The Genealogy Room & Exhibits
1000's of books & family trees
The library boasts of over 1000 books and ledgers not in print or available at the courthouse, much less online.  See the Tax Assessors' lists of neighboring families.  This can help you tie in Census records to actual properties' location.   See Old School Record Books.  See Cemetery Books for not only Meigs Co but other  neighboring counties.  Look up marriage records.   See family interview and  reports of trees never published.  Follow up on dead letters office list from the Post Office.  The courthouse is just one block away; there you can find the Wills & Probates.   The Library is one block away which houses many old books and family trees.

At the museum Copier and Microfilm machines are available also.   Thanks to generous donations we have added a computer with internet access to Ancestry.com and other Family Tree Online programs.  It will take years/decades to digitize these books, and by then the technology will be obsolete.  So please help and volunteer.   Please use the gloves provided to look thru our ancient books.  We love to have you here and answer any questions you may have.  We can also put you in contact with people who can help or might be related to you.  Please stop by.
